Quinta do Vale da Arruda

Built in 1947 this Large 6 bedroom Granite Farmhouse is set in 314500m2 of beautiful countryside with stunning views of Serra da Estrela which has a popular Ski Resort.

The impressive Entrance Gates open to a tree lined Private Driveway which take you down to the secluded Farmhouse.

The Farmhouse was built in 1947 for 2 Sisters. The 1st floor is divided into two, each half a mirror image of the other, which gave the sisters independent living. A corridor runs the full length with an impressive dividing door between the two halves.

The large roof space is ideal for conversion and is accessed by two sets of stairs. There are 10 good sized rooms to give bedrooms or living/dining-rooms. Each half has a large kitchen at either end. There is a large family bathroom at the West end of the building.

The ground floor was originally used to house the animals but has been tiled and now is a large area and a blank canvas.

The many outbuildings include the old Farmhouse, outside WC, a large Sheep Shed, ruins, a Dovecote and a Bread Oven. There is a separate shed for electricity connection.

There is also a well documented ancient health spring and remains of a spa facility.

Telephone with Internet access… is already connected.

Water supply… is either from a nearby bore hole or mains supply nearby.

There are many granite irrigation waterways and a Quarry.

The Dovecote is especially spectacular but needs some restoration.

The trees include pine trees some with much sought after pine nuts plus a large olive grove. Fruit trees include apple and pear. There are many grape vines around the farm and river. Much of the farm has forest area of oaks, pines and eucalyptus.

Arruda is aprox. 5 minutes driving distance from the pretty town of Travancinha which has a popular Café and a Primary School. Arruda is aprox.10 minutes to the larger City of Oliveira do Hospital with all amenities including Schools, Hospitals, Supermarkets ,Restaurants, Post-Office, shops and Hotel.
