The
property is a Large Colonial style, single storey dwelling built to 5 Star Hotel Standards.
The
house consists of :-

bedrooms, 3 en suite: The fourth bedroom is currently used as an office.
Bedroom 1 & 2 are the same size 27sq.m (including the bathroom) with an
inter- connecting door as well as a door directly to the outside covered
walkway. They both have fitted built in wardrobes with full length
double mirrors.
The
master bedroom is huge – 42sq.m (excluding the bathroom) and the
bathroom is 6.5sq.m. There is also a walk in wardrobe cum storage area
of 6.25sq.m leading off the bedroom. There is a full size fitted wall
mirror in the walk in wardrobe.
The
lounge/dining room is 7m x 6m (42sq.m) with the kitchen leading off
that. The lounge has tinted glass sliding doors to two sides (see floor
plan) as well as net doors so that the house can remain ‘open’ to all
the fresh air during the night.
The
kitchen is fitted with purpose made lined teak units with large drawers
(instead of shelves) so that you can see what is right in the back of
that ‘shelf’. The counter is tiled and the kitchen floor is fitted with
special non-slip tiles. The kitchen is fitted with a 4 ring hob (3 gas
and one electric) and an eye level oven with storage above. Floor size
is 4.5m x 2.5m. This is a great kitchen to work in because the worktops
are 90cm deep rather than the usual 60cm so there is plenty of room.
Leading off the lounge is the veranda 8.5m x7m (59.5sq.m) which is
used as the living area during the daytime. This has a special feature
of a huge granite stone in one corner with a fish tank.
The
laundry room is attached to the kitchen externally and is approached
from the veranda. This is 2.5mx2.5m
All
the rooms in the house have air conditioning. The house has tiled
flooring throughout, and all the exterior wooden doors are solid teak
doors. All ceilings throughout the house are 4.5 metres at the apex and
are lined with bamboo. The effect is stunning. The house is very easy
to keep clean.
The 8m
x 4m swimming pool is a few steps off the veranda. This is a Des
Joyeaux swimming pool and the filtration system is all in the white box
forming the diving board. It is an absolutely efficient system and easy
to maintain. The company, Des Joyeaux, have opened a shop in Thai Muang
so you do not have far to travel to collect pool chemicals.
Surrounding the pool and to the front of the veranda the area is sand
washed. In one corner there is a feature outdoor pool shower and to the
right of the shower (about 4m) (see site layout) is an under cover BBQ
area with two fire areas. The BBQ is brick built and designed by the
owners, the top is tiled and there is an electrically operated rotary
spit.
The well was drilled in 2005, which was the
driest year in 50 years, and the reaches the water table. Water is pumped to a 3000L tank in the
water tower attached to the back of the garage. This is gravity fed to
the house and garden outlets with great success.
There
is a large storeroom as an integral part of the garage, and the 3mx3m
room below the water tower, which is also an integral part of the garage
building, is the workshop area. An extremely reliable car can be purchased at a competitive rate.
The
gardens are mature and well maintained. No expense has been spared in
creating this wonderland. The property has many fruit trees – mango, papaya, mangostine, limes and tangerines.
The
entire property is surrounded by walls and flowering hedges offering
total seclusion.
